Hogy mit kell tudjunk Babar legjobb barátjáról? Tiszta szívű, egyszerű, humoros. Ez persze a munkáiban is tükröződik- Ja! Szakmát váltott; már nem a fagyizóban, hanem egy szappanműhelyben dolgozik! Zefir bajuszpedrőt készít (férfiember lévén ez érthető is)…
„Kipróbáltam a ricinus és méhviaszból készült kenőcsöt. Tudom mit ronthattam el, de ez erősen rossz lett. A bajuszomra kenni sem volt egyszerű, aztán úgy tűnt, soha többet le nem jön róla. De legalább tornádóálló! Kár, hogy eközben ragacsos és csúnyán ki is ült a szőrszálakra. Egyet el kell ismerjek, nagyon jó lett az illata! Kiindulási alapnak ez meglehetősen gyenge, de nem abból a fából vagyok faragva, akit ez eltántorít…”
Zefir a szappanokról…
„Háziszappant készíteni számomra több, mint hobbi -inkább küldetés. Felfedezek vele egy eddig ismeretlen új, vagy épp nagyon is ősi világot.
Az alapreceptem nem bonyolult, egyenlő mennyiségű kókuszvaj, pálmazsír, napraforgó és oliva olaj. Készítettem már szappant sertészsírból is, vörösborral oldva a lúgot. Engem nem botránkoztat meg a gondolat, hogy a szappanban állati zsiradék van, hiszen eleink avas szalonnából, faggyúból és más e félékből főzték a szappant. Miért ne próbálnám ki én is?
A lúgot nem csak vízzel, de mindenféle levekkel oldom. Tejjel, teával, gyümölcslével, zöldségek kipréselt levével. Egy ízben, ahogy írtam, még a bort is kipróbáltam. Az a szappan nem vált be, talán egyszer újra kísérletezek majd vele.
Egyet viszont biztosan nem teszek a szappanomba: mesterséges adalékot. Sem színt, sem illatot. Inkább legyen halványabb a színe, picit gyengébb az illata, de legalább abba ne kerüljön mesterséges kemikália, amit magamnak, a családomnak és a barátainknak készítek!”

What do we have to know about the best friend of Babar? Pure-hearted, unsophisticated, funny. And of course all his works reflect his character- Oh, yes! I forgot to tell: he has changed his profession; he left the confectionery and he makes hand made soaps instead of ice cream! I used to read his small notes about his works always with great pleasure (http://szappanom.blog.hu/) – and as he’d given me a free hand to introduce him, I’ve chosen a short passage from his site to arouse your curiosity, and I will publish his workshop philosophy, too…
Zephyr makes moustache-wax (Clear! He’s a man!)
„I’ve tried the salve made from castor oil and beeswax. I know what was wrong, but the result is very poor. It was hardly applicable to my fringe and it seemed to stay there for ever. At least it’s tornado-resistant! The pity is, it’s in the same time sticky and not so great looking on my moustache fibers. But one thing must be admitted: the smell is just awesome! I know it’ quite a weak starting- point, but I’m not made of such wood to become discouraged ... "
Zephyr about soaps…
„To make hand made soaps is more than just a hobby to me – rather a mission. I discover a for me until unkown new and in the same time pretty ancestral world.
My basic recipe is not sophisticated: coconut oil, palm oil, sunflower oil and olive oil of equal proportion. I’ve made also soap from lard making the lye with red wine. The thought to make soap of animal fat doesn’t shock me, since our forefathers cooked soap of rancid bacon, tallow and so on… Why not try?
I used to solve the lye not just with simple water but with different fluids like milk, tea, fruit or vegetable juice. Once, as I’ve mentioned above, I’ve used red wine. That was not really a proven recipe, maybe I’ll experiment with slightly in the future.
One thing is sure: I won’t use any kind of artificial ingredients! Neither color, nor fragrance. Better to have my soap paler or less fragrant, but at least for things I make to my family and friends I don’t add any chemicals to!”
